Riding for Team Paramed UK is 20 year old top Scottish racer David Paton. David started racing at the age of 13 on mini-motos and David quickly progressed to win the championship in his second and last year.
David then aged 14, moved onto the Aprilia 125s where he won the Scottish championship in his first year. He went on to retain it in his 2nd year as well as winning the final round of the British Superteens. Next on the agenda were the 400’s where he won the Scottish title and numerous British MRO rounds taking 6 lap records at different tracks around Britain.
During 2006-2008, David moved up to the British scene in the Virgin Media R6 cup where he finished 3rd overall in 2007. He was featured in Channel 5’s documentary programme "Natural Born Racers".
In 2008 David contested in the European superstock 600 Championship (That runs alongside the World Superbikes) racing for Racedays Yamaha with a highest finish of 8th at Assen, Holland. Due to lack of sponsorship David returned to the British championships and breifly raced for AIM Yamaha in the British Supersport Championship at Knockhill and Cadwell Park.
After working hard all season to gel with the new BMWs1000r, Team Paramed UK’s, David Paton showed huge progress at the weekends Scottish Championship.
Jock Taylor Memorial races Meeting, which took place at Knockhill, where David has secured pole position at every race this year.
Glorious weather made for fast and close racing and the large crowd were kept on their feet as once again David didn’t disappoint and qualified on pole position for the weekends racing.
After leading race one until a small mistake allowed two riders to pass, David finished a respectable 3rd and to the teams delight David improved this result in race two when he won by over 6 seconds and shattered the lap record. Sundays Races arrived and David continued his success with another third position and a final race win after an eventful and aggressive race.
